What are the requirements to rent a car with Vie Rent a Car?
- A credit card issued by a banking institution.
- A valid driver's license.
- A valid Official ID (Mexican Voter ID - INE - or passport).
What is the minimum age to rent?
The minimum required age is 21 years old.
Do I need a specific type of driver's license?
We accept all valid national and international driver's licenses.
Do the driver's license and credit card need to be under the same name?
Yes, it is a fundamental requirement that the primary renter presents a valid driver's license, credit card, and official identification, all in their name.
Why might I not receive the exact vehicle from my reservation?
Reservations are made by vehicle category, not by a specific model. The images shown are for illustrative purposes only.
Does the credit card holder need to be present?
Yes, the cardholder must be present at the time of signing the rental agreement.
Is a minimum amount required on my credit card?
When renting directly with Vie Rent a Car, the security deposit amounts vary according to the category, starting from the equivalent of $600 USD, as per the exchange rate at the counter.
What is the security deposit?
It is an amount held (not charged) on your credit card as a guarantee for any additional charges. It is released at the end of the rental, provided there are no charges for extensions, fuel, damages, or breach of the terms and conditions.
Can I leave the security deposit in cash?
For security reasons, we do not accept cash deposits. The deposit must be made exclusively with a credit card.
How can I know if the security deposit has been released?
After the vehicle is returned, we proceed to release the deposit. Some banks may reflect this transaction within 5 to 7 business days. If the amount has not been released in that time, you can contact Customer Service at +1 (929) 528-5539 to request a Release Letter.
Is there a charge for mileage?
All our contracts include unlimited mileage.
Do you offer 24-hour service?
Yes, our airport counter offers 24-hour service for vehicle pick-up and drop-off.
Is it possible to rent a vehicle by the hour?
Yes, it is possible; however, the minimum charge applicable corresponds to a full rental day, as our rates are calculated in 24-hour periods.
How long do I have to pick up my vehicle after the reserved time?
We honor reservations for up to 2 hours after the indicated time. After this period, service will be subject to vehicle availability. During the high season, the grace period is reduced to 1 hour due to high demand.
What type of fuel do the vehicles use?
We have vehicles that use both gasoline and diesel. The required fuel type is specified on the fuel cap of each unit.
